When a call came in about a Bald Eagle who was just seen falling from powerlines we knew we had to act fast. To make the rescue more complicated the bird was located on a stretch land, between two busy highways. When our volunteers Beres and Kerste, arrived they found the bird on the other side of a ditch. Without hesitation volunteer Beres, walked barefoot through the ditch in January! To make a safe capture of the injured eagle.

The eagle was suffering from electrical burns on both wings, and had heart palpitations from the shock. After intensive therapies, we are proud to say the bird made a full recovery and was returned to the wild during our Open House celebrations.
