This Bald Eagle came into care from Haida Gwaii suffering from lead poisoning. Sadly, even after aggressive treatment, he didn’t make it.

Scavenging birds like eagles often consume fragments of lead left behind in gut piles of hunted game, vermin hit with pellet guns, and even fishing weights that are accidentally consumed. Please make the switch to non-lead pellets/BB’s, ammunition, and fishing weights.
